Homemade italian cake recipe



*Ingredients:

°2 cups all-purpose flour
°1 tablespoon baking powder
°1/2 teaspoon of salt
°1 cup granulated sugar
°3 large eggs
°1 cup whole milk
°1 teaspoon vanilla extract
°1/2 c unsalted butter
°Fresh fruit for garnish (optional)

*Instructions:

Preheat oven 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
In another bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the milk and vanilla extract to the egg mixture and beat to combine.
Gradually pour in the melted butter while continuing to beat the mixture.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan.
Bake the cake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow cake to cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing and placing on wire rack to cool completely.
Serve the cake sprinkled with powdered sugar and fresh fruit on top, if desired.
