Southern Shrimp and Grits



*ingredients:

°1 c grits
°2 c milk
°1 1/4 c vegetable broth
°3 tbsp. butter
°1 c cheese
°12 oz Shrimp
°1 thick slice of bacon, diced
°2 garlic cloves
°1 small onion cut into thin slices
°12 small ounces chopped tomatoes
°1 cup vegetable broth
°1/2 tsp. kosher salt
°1/4 tsp. cayenne
°1 dash cinnamon
°4 tablespoons. Parsley 

*Methods 

Bring the milk and vegetable oil to a boil, slowly adding the granules 1/4 cup at a time.
Mix the butter and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
Adding cheese & stirring to combined.
While the grits are cooking, start cooking the shrimp.
To prepare the shrimp.
In a small dish, mix together the salt, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon.
Start cooking the bacon in a nonstick skillet.
Once the bacon begins to brown, add the onions and garlic and continue to cook until the onions are translucent.
Flip the shrimp and cook until it turns pink. Sprinkle with spice mixture.
Add tomatoes and vegetable broth.
Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Divided grits evenly into 4 bowls and top with the shrimp.
