Kentucky Butter Cake


*Ingredients:

°1 c soft butter
°2 c of sugar
°4 eggs, room temperature
°2 tsp vanilla extract
°3 cups all-purpose flour
°1 tsp baking powder
°1/2 teaspoon baking soda
°1/2 tsp salt
°1 cup buttermilk
+butter sauce:
°1 cup of sugar
°1/2 cup butter, cubed
°1/4 cup of water
°1-1/2 t almond extract
°1 1/2 t vanilla extract

*Methods :

In bowl, beat the butter and the sugar. Adding eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating well after each addition.
Pour to greased & floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350° , 55 to 70 mn. Leave to cool for 10 minutes. Run a knife around the edges and the central tube of the mould. Invert cake onto rack on waxed paper.
For sauce, combined sugar, butter & water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Remove from fire ; agitation of the extracts.
Poke holes in top of hot cake; pour 1/4 c sauce on cake. Letting stand until sauce is absorbed. . Poke holes in sides of cake; brush remaining sauce over sides. Let cool completely.
