Ingredients:
4-6 chicken breasts
1 cup pack brown sugar
2/3 c vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar)
1/4 c lime soda
2-3 tsp garlic
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp ground pepper
2 tsp corn starch
2 tsp water
Red pepper flakes (optional)
directione:
Spraying slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Placing the chicken (frozen, thawed, or fresh) to the slow cooker. Mix brown sugar, vinegar, soda, garlic, soy sauce, and pepper together. Pour over chicken. Simmer on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
Removing chicken pieces from the slow cooker (it basically shattered) and pour the remaining sauce into the saucepan. Put the pot on high heat. Mix the cornstarch and water together, pour into a saucepan and mix well. Let the sauce come to a boil and simmer for 2-3 min and turn into a glaze. Remove from heat and simmer for a minute or two (the texture will continue to thicken as it cools).
Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top if desired. It can be served over rice or pasta, also I like it with bake potatoes on the side
Enjoy !
